LP Sheathing. This shed is built with LP products, including LP radiant barrier sheathing. All LP SmartSide products are engineered to be highly impact resistant, and to resist termites and fungal decay. This radiant barrier sheathing goes a step further. Radiant barrier sheathing has at least two clear benefits. First, when you walk in your shed, you will find it much brighter. The aluminum foil laminate will make it much easier for you to find the stuff smuggled away into a corner. Second, the radiant barrier keeps your shed a lot cooler in the summer. You will notice an obvious difference if you compare two sheds, one with the radiant barrier sheathing and one without. LP sheathing comes with LP’s 20 year transferable warranty, but if you keep it painted it should last almost indefinitely.
Sherwin Williams Paint. You won’t need to paint it for a long time, however. The 12×14 Storage Shed featured here is hand-painted with a premium-grade Sherwin Williams paint, Sherwin-Williams SuperPaint®. Obviously, no paint will last forever, but the Sherwin Williams pros estimate that it will last for 20 years. This paint comes backed by a Sherwin Williams Limited Lifetime Warranty.
Architectural Shingles. The roof sheathing is also LP radiant barrier sheathing. On top of that all of our sheds feature tar paper, a vapor barrier that has been used for years on homes but is also used on high-quality storage sheds. And finally, the tar paper is covered with architectural shingles.
Treated Floor System. Underneath all of this is a pressure-treated floor system. That means that the skids, and all the floor joists, are pressure-treated. This creates a floor that is highly rot-resistant, and will remain solid for years to come. (To read and watch how we build our floors, click here.)
